TREATMENT PRECAUTIONS


LED Therapy (Tri Wave MD & Flex MD):

When booking an appointment, please ensure that you have not recently had a sun burn on the treatment area and that you are NOT taking any of the following medications:

ANTIBIOTICS: Tetracycline, Doxycycline, Norfloxacin, Ofloxacin, Nalidixic acid, Minocycline, Oxytetraycline, Demeclocycline, Lymecycline, Sulfonamides (wait 5 days).

CHEMOTHERAPY, RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS & PSORIASIS: Methotexate (wait 5 days).

NEUROLEPTIC & ANTI-PSYCHOTIC: Haloperidol, Chlorpromazine, Trifluoperazine (wait 5 days).

ANTI-ARRHYTHMIC & HEART CONDITIONS: Amiodarone (wait 5 days).

RETINOIDS (ORAL & TOPICAL): Isotretinoin, Roaccutane (wait 5 days).

NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS (NSAIDs): Naproxen, Celecoxib (wait 7 days).

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

  • Epilepsy or Seizures triggered by light

  • Porphyria

  • Lupus Erythematous

  • Polymorphic Light Eruption

  • Photosensitive Eczema

  • Hypomelanism (Albanism)

  • Active Cancers

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Pregnancy

  • Eye disease and conditions

  • Light induced migraines

  • St Johns Wart

  • Recent introduction of new skin care

  • Under 16 years old


OxyGeneo:

When booking an appointment, please ensure that you have not recently had a sun burn on the treatment area and that you are NOT taking any of the following medications: Accutane (6 months) , Retin A(6 months) , tetracyclines, St. John’s Wort, or Immunosuppressives.

If you have severe active skin conditions (ie, skin cancer, sores, eczema, rash, fragile, swollen, burnt or injured skin, dermatitis, psoriasis, or active Herpes Simplex) in the treatment area, please wait for the condition to clear up before booking an appointment 

You are not a candidate for the ultrasound part of the treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you have recently had other medical aesthetic treatments, you must wait the recommended amount of time before booking an appointment. 

• Plastic surgery, Liposuction, deep peeling, laser resurfacing: wait 1-3 months or until completely healed 

• Botox: wait 2 weeks

• Natural Fillers: wait 4 weeks

• Mesotherapy: depends on formulation and skin healing rate

• Superficial/ light peels ie, AHA & BHA: wait 2 weeks

• Fractional laser: wait 1 month 

• Ultrasound (other than OxyGeneo): wait 24 hours

• LED devices: wait 24 hours

• Laser, IPL: wait 2 weeks

• Synthetic fillers, gold/plastic threads: not recommended to combine


Laser/IPL:

When booking an appointment, please ensure that you have not recently had a sun burn on the treatment area. If you have a slight sun burn, you will not receive a laser treatment as this can cause severe side effects.

Ensure you are NOT taking any of the following medications: Accutane (6 months), Retin A (6 months), tetracyclines, St. John’s Wort, or Immunosuppressives. Avoid taking Ibuprofen, retinols (oral and topical) and exfoliants one week before treatment. 

If you have severe active skin conditions (ie, skin cancer, sores, eczema, rash, fragile, swollen, burnt or injured skin, dermatitis, psoriasis, or active Herpes Simplex) in the treatment area, please wait for the condition to clear up before booking an appointment 

Do not book a laser appointment if you have a history of epilepsy. 

You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

When booking an appointment, please ensure that you have not recently had a sun burn on the treatment area and that you are NOT taking any of the following medications: Accutane(6 months), Retin A(6 months), tetracyclines, St. John’s Wort, or Immunosuppressives. Avoid taking Ibuprofen retinols (oral and topical) and exfoliants one week before treatment. 

If you have severe active skin conditions (ie, skin cancer, sores, eczema, rash, fragile, swollen, burnt or injured skin, dermatitis, psoriasis, or active Herpes Simplex), history of keloid scarring, abnormal wound healing, or dry fragile skin in the treatment area, please wait for the condition to clear up before booking an appointment.

Due to the use of Radio Frequency, you must not have a pacemaker, internal defibrillator, implanted neuro-stimulator or other internal electrical device. No metal implants in treatment area. 

Must not have an allergy to glycerin.

Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

FreezPen:

When booking an appointment, please ensure that you have not recently had a sun burn on the treatment area.

Ensure you are NOT taking any of the following medications: Accutane (6 months), Retin A (6 months), tetracyclines, St. John’s Wort, or Immunosuppressives. Avoid taking Ibuprofen one week before treatment.

If you have any of the following you are not a candidate for the freezpen:

  • Under the age of 18 (parental consent required).

  • Unstable diabetes.

  • Active skin conditions such as: skin tumours, exanthema(rash), open wounds, solar hyperkeratosis etc.

  • Unexplained, suspicious growths.

  • Cancer tissue and malignant tumours.

  • Contraindications related to temporary conditions, such as cold intolerance.

  • Infections accompanied by fever.

  • Acute chemotherapy or radiotherapy four weeks before or after cryotherapy.

  • Pregnancy or nursing.

  • Vascular insufficiency.

  • Use of Accutane or Retin-A.


Dermal Fillers & Botox:

Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.

Schedule your Botox and Dermal Fillers appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Results from the Dermal Filler and Botox injections will take approximately 4 to 7 days to appear. Also bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period. 

Avoid air travel within 48 hours of Dermal Filler treatment.

Reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area.

If you have a history of cold sores please let your provider know, they may prescribe an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.

You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.


Plasma IQ:

Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment.   • Birthmarks and Port-wine Stains (in treatment area)

  • Warts

  • Tattoos (in treatment area)

  • Blood Coagulation (Hemophilia)

  • Auto-immune disorders (Lupus)

  • Fitzpatrick Skin Types IV, V, VI

  • An implanted pacemaker, metal or electrically conductive implants

  • Cancer

  • Eye regions/eyelids

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

  • Cardiac Disorders or Cardiovascular Diseases

  • Uncontrolled Diabetes

  • Circulatory Disorders

  • Active Herpes or Shingles

  • Skin Disorders including psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, Vitiligo

  • Scars including hypertrophic, keloid scars or previous occurrences of keloid scars
